Costas and Yiota Foti

Cofounders of Pancyprian Association (PA.SY.KA.XO)

Costas and Yiota have been involved in dancing since their teens. They began their involvement with Cypriot and Greek dance in 1976, and made their first steps as dancers at the refugee club, Anagenissi Prosfigon Lemesou. Later on around 1981 they became members of the dance club “Vrakofori Ammochostou” they participate in various events on a pan Cyprian basis, such as the Cyprus Wine Festival etc, and as representatives of Cyprus during various events abroad sponsored by the ministry of educations cultural division, or the c.t.o Cyprus tourism organization.

After 20 years of experience in the field of traditional dance, they continue to further enrich their experience in dance by engaging in new dances such as Latin, Ballroom, Freestyle, Belly dance, Hip Hop, Rock n Roll etc. with the help of accredited tutors from abroad.

In 1995 Mesaoria dance school was founded, and later renamed to school of dance Foti Mesaoria. Mesaoria being the area in occupied Cyprus where the village of Gypsou lies from which Costa is descended.

In 1996 after intensive dance lessons and study, simultaneously taking exams via the Association of Internationals Dance Teachers they become qualified Latin dance teachers. At a later date they both qualify with diplomas in Ballroom (Associates IDTA). Today they are full members of the IDTA in other words Licentiates.
Costas and Yiota are the co-founders of Pancyprian Association of Dance Tutors (??.S?.??.??.)

For 4 years Costas was secretary, 4 years vice-president and 2 years president of the commitee of the IDTA Cyprus Branch.

Through hard word and continuous training of the tutors with seminars in Cyprus and abroad the school has reached and an enviable level of standards exemplified through the tutoring of its students.

At the school, exams take place twice a year with examiners from the united Kingdom, both for amateurs and professionals.

Andreas started dancing at the age of 6. At the beginning he started with Cypriot and Greek Traditional dances and then he carried on with Latin and Ballroom. At the age of nineteen Andreas decided to get trained in sport dance in a private school in UK. During the two years of training there, Andreas took part in many competitions in Latin and Ballroom where he succeeded to get through the finalists in Blackpool 2011. Afterwards he moved to Salonica where he carried on his training. During his training, Andreas took part in Salonica Open competition where he took the first place and also took part in sport dance for the Cup of Greece where he took again the first place. Andreas teaches Latin, Ballroom, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Cypriot and Greek Traditional dances. He participated in the show Dansing For You 3 with his partner Rosita Kendala..

Dance Teacher / Choreographer

Marina started dancing at the age of five. At the age of fifteen she decided to study dance as a profession. After several auditions and hard work she succeeded to get a place at “PERFORMERS COLLEGE” in UK. During the three year course in abroad, famous choreographers and experienced teachers helped her to get many experiences in this field. She graduated from college in July 2012 with the National Diploma in Dance Theatre and other teaching diplomas from the organisations ISTD and IDTA in many subjects such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop – Street Dance and Musical Theatre. In addition she teaches Latin, Ballroom, belly dancing, Pilates and Body Conditioning. Marina was one of the main dancers at the Madame Figaro Awards in Cyprus and also Super Music Awards in 2018.
